Made with Aether does not sell or broker personal data. Dial has no Aether account, no Aether-operated data server, no advertising, no analytics, and no tracking.

Data in Dial

Dial stores Sessions, settings, and Parked Thoughts as app data. That data remains local when local-only storage is in use. When iCloud sync is enabled, it is stored through the person’s private Apple iCloud account using CloudKit; Made with Aether does not operate an intermediary server or account system.

If you explicitly send a Parked Thought to Drift or dispatch content to another app or Apple service, the destination receives the copy you chose to send and handles it under its own privacy terms.

Data in Drift

Drift stores your thoughts, recordings and photos on your device, with no Aether account or sync. Transcription and ordinary connection ranking run on your device. If you choose Private Cloud Compute in Connections, Drift first shows the exact text excerpts for you to review and approve. Only those excerpts are sent to Apple’s Private Cloud Compute; raw recordings, photos and neighboring notebook lines are excluded. Cancelling the review sends nothing.

Drift does not retain a model conversation or send this material to an Aether server. Suggested connections remain temporary and do not rewrite your originals. You can export your thoughts in Settings or delete an original from its More menu.

Data in Embark

Embark has no Aether account and no Aether-operated server. Your game progress, journeys, finds, story and settings are stored on your device and, when iCloud is available, in your private iCloud account through CloudKit so they sync across your devices. The first steps and task text you type stay in your app data and your private iCloud; they are never shown on the Lock Screen, widgets, leaderboards or shared postcards.

Optional features use Apple services only when you turn them on: Reminders and Calendar are read on your device to suggest a first step, and a reminder is marked complete only when you choose; your approximate location is sent to Apple WeatherKit once per journey to show the weather on the road; photos you pick for a postcard and speech you dictate are processed on your device; on-device Apple Intelligence may suggest wording.

Shared features use Apple services as well. Game Center (under Apple’s terms) handles achievements, friends and ferry matchmaking, so matched travellers may see your Game Center presence. Invites store a random code and an anonymous identifier in a public CloudKit database; live events store only counts of journeys; when you begin a journey, Embark adds one anonymous pulse (the start time only, nothing about the task) to a public CloudKit database so the app can show how many journeys began in the last hour, and deletes it after about two hours; friend quests are shared through iCloud sharing with the friends you invite. Purchases are processed by Apple. Embark has no advertising and does not sell or broker personal data.

Data on this website

This static website uses no account, form, cookie, analytics script, advertising technology, or tracker. Its fonts, images, styles, and scripts are served locally rather than loaded from a third-party runtime.

Choosing an email link opens your email app. Any message you send is handled by your email provider and ours, outside this website, so that we can read and respond to it.

Your choices

You can use the website without contacting us. Dial’s local data can be managed through the app and the Apple platform controls available on your device. iCloud availability and account controls are provided by Apple.
