Privacy Policy for Aether Arc
Last Updated: March 30, 2026
Effective Date: March 30, 2026
Introduction
Aether Arc (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our iOS, watchOS, and macOS applications (collectively, the “App”).
Our Core Privacy Principle: Your data stays on your device. We don’t collect, store, or access your personal information on our servers—because we don’t have any servers.
Information We Do NOT Collect
Aether Arc is designed with privacy at its core. We do not:
- Collect personal information
- Require account creation
- Use analytics or tracking tools
- Display advertisements
- Sell or share your data with third parties
- Upload your data to our servers (we don’t have any)
- Use cookies or similar tracking technologies
Information Stored on Your Device
The following data is stored locally on your device using Apple’s secure frameworks (UserDefaults, iCloud Key-Value Store, and App Groups):
Time Zone Data
- Time zone identifiers you add (e.g., “America/New_York”)
- City and country names
- Associated people names you optionally add
- Work hours preferences for each zone
Calendar Integration (Optional)
- Calendar event data accessed via Apple’s EventKit framework
- Selected calendar identifiers
- This data never leaves your device
App Preferences
- Display preferences (24-hour format, show seconds)
- Calendar integration settings
- iCloud sync preferences
iCloud Sync
Aether Arc optionally uses Apple’s iCloud Key-Value Store to sync your zones across devices:
- Encrypted: All data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple
- Private: We cannot access your iCloud data
- Optional: You can disable iCloud sync in Settings at any time
- Deletable: Delete your data by removing the app or disabling iCloud sync
Calendar Permissions
Aether Arc may request access to your calendar to display events alongside time zones:
- Optional: Calendar access is completely optional
- Local Only: Calendar data is accessed via Apple’s EventKit and never leaves your device
- Revocable: You can revoke calendar access in iOS Settings at any time
Camera Permissions (AR Feature)
The AR Time Card feature requires camera access:
- Optional: Camera access is only required for the AR feature
- On-Device Processing: All text recognition happens locally using Apple’s Vision framework
- No Storage: Camera frames are processed in real-time and never stored
- Revocable: You can revoke camera access in iOS Settings at any time
Third-Party Services
Aether Arc does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics, or tracking tools. The only external services used are:
- Apple iCloud: For optional device-to-device sync (Apple’s privacy policy applies)
- Apple EventKit: For optional calendar integration (Apple’s privacy policy applies)
Data Retention and Deletion
Since all data is stored locally on your device:
- Retention: Data remains on your device until you delete the app
- Deletion: Uninstalling the app removes all local data
- iCloud: To delete iCloud-synced data, disable iCloud sync in Settings or delete the app from all devices
Children’s Privacy
Aether Arc does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app does not require any personal information to function.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy.
